The station has just been awarded a sizeable donation of £30,000.00 from Apache North Sea.
The Apache North Sea's Bond Charity Programme provides direct contributions and sponsorship to non-profit based organisations underlining Apache's commitment to the wider community. The Bond Charity Programme is managed by the Bond Committee and looks at providing substantial donations to charities / organisations where we believe there is the potential for a donation to make a lasting and meaningful impact.
The request for funding for North Highland Radio came to our attention through a nomination be Fergus Gregory, whose career with the company has spanned almost 37 years. Fergus is very respected and a valued employee who was recently presented with Apache's Diamond Award which is a career achievement recognition for Apaches who have made significant contributions and commitment to the company through long-term service.
Fergus' recommendation for funding of North Highland Radio was carefully considered by the Bond Committee who recognised the impact that the station has on the wider community, and the request was supported wholeheartedly.
Liam Christie, Commercial Partner of the Station "This donation in itself secures the immediate future of the station and indeed will allow us to build on our plans to become a full-time FM / DAB station. We are delighted to receive this donation and confirms our values and commitment to the local community. We are looking to secure additional funding as we drive the station forward to be the North's Number One Community Radio Station."
